The GBS Group is pleased to announce the promotion of retired Rear Admiral Rick Berkey to the position of VP, Rail and Transportation Division. In this role, Rick is responsible for all Rail Technology business in the U.S., Canada and abroad. Rick has led this business unit since joining The GBS Group in October.
Rick has over 30 years of engineering and executive experience in various U.S. Navy positions ashore and at sea including Chief Engineer on USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) and Shipyard Commander at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. In his Flag assignments, he managed the US Pacific Fleet maintenance budget, programs, and requirements and then did the same for the US Atlantic Fleet.

Rick Berkey served over 33 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a Rear Admiral, Engineering Officer. During his naval career, he held various positions including Chief Engineer aboard the USS George Washington (CVN-73), Shipyard Commander at Naval Shipyards in Norfolk and Hawaii, and most recently as Director, Fleet Maintenance at U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
