The GBS Group expands its footprint within NSWCPD and within the Navy.
The GBS Group was awarded two contracts supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Detachment (NSWCPD) Codes 427 and 531.
On 19 September 2019, NSWCPD awarded The GBS Group an $8.13M contract over 5 years to support Code 427 covering engineering, technical, programmatic, logistics, maintenance, installation, and Life Cycle Management, and systems support for NSWCPD Propulsion Systems. The support includes NSWCPD Major Programs office, Program Executive Offices (PEO), Propulsion Executive Steering Committee (PESC), 2S COG (Cognizance Symbol), Marine Gas Turbine, Propulsion, Condition Based Maintenance (CBM)/Condition Assessment, Land Based Engineering Sites (LBES), Electric Drive Test Facility (EDTF), Energy Programs, Compatibility Test Facility (CTF), Electric Ships Office, Science & Technology (S&T), Research & Development (R&D), and Hybrid Electric Drive (HED).
In addition, on 16 April 2020, NSWCPD also awarded The GBS Group a $12.6M contract over 5 years to support Code 531 covering development of tools to support Cybersecurity M&S, MBSE, analysis, and assessments, as well as integration with other efforts to maintain situational awareness and implement Cybersecure system design practices. GBS provides engineering and technical services to support all activities associated with analyzing the Cybersecurity Posture of NCSs, Modeling & Simulations (M&S), Vulnerability Analysis, Threat Analysis, Risk Assessments, recommending and evaluating Security Controls and Mitigations, and Structured Data Modeling and Data Analytics. Tasks include development and testing of software and hardware solutions for cybersecurity, design and implementation of advanced risk analysis techniques and systems engineering analysis, development and evaluation models of NCS, mission, and cybersecurity concepts, and performing cybersecurity risk assessments, comparing, verifying, and validating cybersecurity risk assessment processes and results, and installation and configuration of cybersecurity software and hardware solutions at alternate hosting sites identified by US Navy resource sponsors.
With these new contract awards, The GBS Group has not only expanded its footprint within NSWCPD but also added to its wide range of technologies and will continue to look for new growth areas within the Navy. Throughout NSWCPD, we have expanded our personnel to over 40 employees supporting Codes 427, 511, 512, 514, 515, 516, 519, 522, 523, 524, and 531.
