NAVAL ARCHITECTURE AND MARINE ENGINEER
Position Requirements
- The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of marine engineering including calculations, material selection, specification development, and drawing development.Familiar with ABS and USCG regulations for steel vessels (MIL-SPEC experience is a bonus)
- Capable of supervising the design and drafting staff
- Experience with design of all structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical systems
- Responsible for checking calculations done by Engineers working on the project
- Technical writing and customer relations skills are essential
Job Requirements
- Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering or Naval Architecture from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum 5 years of shipyard design and construction experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of scheduling and an ability to adhere to strict deadlines
- Experienced in interacting with Production, multiple design teams from several companies, customer representatives and equipment manufacturers
- Computer literate and familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products

SENIOR PROJECT CONTROLLER
Position Description
The GBS Group has an immediate opening for an experienced Project Controller who will support projects in the Washington, D.C. area. The project controller will work closely with program and project managers to support commercial, technology development and delivery system projects that involve multiple subcontractors. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team to provide financial leadership for all financial processes related to the project, manages risks as they present themselves and ensures sound controllership principles are applied.
Duties and Reponsibilities
- Develops thorough knowledge of project contractual agreements
- Assist with developing fixed pricing for new opportunities
- Analyzes the project’s financial progress to date, participates in development of potential risk and opportunity action planning, develop fixed price project control reports for review
- Works with Project Manager to consistently analyze contingency reserves in line with project risk
- Works with finance department to ensures financial integrity of the Work Breakdown Structure for all related accounting processes (e.g. coding of invoices, purchase orders, timesheets)
- Owns project cash flow process, forecasts and plans to ensure adequate funding levels
- Identifies company exposure to warranty obligations
- Prepares Monthly Project Report to fix price review

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR
Position Description
The GBS Group has an immediate opening for an experienced Contract Administrator where moderate supervision is required. The individual will work cooperatively with the VP of Contracts in the review and analysis of various contractual documents and proposals. Other responsibilities include:
- Acting as a primary interface with customers and business partners, preparing, negotiation, definitizing and administering contracts and subcontracts, preparing and negotiating proprietary information agreements, teaming agreements, and various types of memoranda
- Candidate will administer, extend, and negotiate standard and nonstandard contracts and subcontracts
- Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, subcontract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications
- Examines estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepares bids; processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information
- Prepare invoices for customers and review invoices from vendors
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Candidates must have at least 3-5 years in both DOD and some knowledge of commercial contracting
- Experience with contract vehicles to include FFP, CPFF, T&M and IDIQ

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER OR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Summary Position Description
The GBS Group has immediate openings for an experienced Electrical Engineer or Electrical
Engineering Technician who can support our work within the transportation industry. Position
will be working with shop personnel troubleshooting electrical control systems and equipment
. Will provide/modify test procedures as required to safely test onboard equipment. Candidates
will perform troubleshooting, testing, maintenance oversight for repairs to locomotive systems,
to include: power conversion systems, DC power systems, control systems, generators,
controllers/processors, and AC and DC control circuits.
Position Requirements
Candidates must have the ability to work independently and be able to communicate effectively
with team engineers and customers to identify and solve problems as related to electrical
control systems and equipment that require in-depth analysis and solutions. The candidate must
be able to understand multiple root causes and communicate findings and recommendations to
management and technical level personnel both verbally and in writing to solve unusual maintenance
problems that require the application of journey level trade skills to provide the most efficient
course of action. Candidate may seek input from subordinates, peers, and/or managers to
understand the nature of the problem. They will then evaluate the options and choose an appropriate
action by considering potential outcomes.
The candidate will plan and implement methodologies and procedures according to the principles
of electrical engineering and control and power distribution theory. This position also includes
providing technical and life cycle system support; developing budgets to support changing
engineering requirements and provide subject matter expertise to support transportation work
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent technical experience
with three to four years of work-related skill or knowledge in the fundamentals of electrical
distribution systems and power and control circuit analysis
