Virginia Beach, VA – June
4, 2007 – The
GBS Group, a business consulting and technical
services company based in Virginia Beach, VA announced today
that it has been awarded a prime contract to provide engineering
and technical services support to the United States Navy as
a prime contractor under the SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) contract.
The GBS Group will deliver engineering, technical, and program
management services to the Naval Sea (NAVSEA) Systems Command and
the Navy Virtual SYSCOM (partners NAVSUP, NAVAIR, SPAWAR and NAVFAC)
and other Navy activities, including the Military Sealift Command
under SeaPort-e contract.
The SeaPort-e Multiple Awards Contracts are streamlined, integrated
acquisition procedures that provide faster, better, and more cost-effective
ways to secure professional support services. SeaPort-e also allows
vendors to provide more for tailored services based on location
of programs and facilities, as well as product area requirements
and missions.
