The GBS Group selects Jim DiTaranto VP, Navy Engineering Division, Philadelphia PA

The GBS Group announced today the selection of  Mr. Jim DiTaranto, VP, Navy Engineering Division, Philadelphia, PA.  “Jim brings an impeccable reputation and decades of engineering and program expertise to GBS” said Bob Golden, CEO.  “He is uniquely suited to lead our Philadelphia Division supporting the Navy’s premier ship modernization and engineering agency at NSWC, Philadelphia Division.  Jim will manage all operations in support of global, Navy engineering contracts, business development, personnel and services. Jim will report to our COO in Virginia Beach, VA — Rear Admiral Rick Berkey (USN, ret.)”

Jim’s career to date spans 38 years at NSWC, Philadelphia Division where he served in engineering positions for 15 years. Jim supported instrumentation and sensor systems for navy ships around the world. Jim’s career advanced progressively to more complex positions, culminating as the Head of the Aircraft Carrier Division in Philadelphia. Jim was responsible for in-service engineering programs and personnel serving the Navy’s aircraft carrier fleets. Jim’s work with the NSWC Philadelphia team helped expand the customer base and success of programs that modernized the nation’s aircraft carrier fleet. Jim’s team focused on extraordinarily complex Nuclear Refueling and Complex Overhauls, New Construction and Modernization. “At NSWC, Philadelphia, I worked with some of the brightest people in the world. Every one of them is committed to optimizing the performance of HM&E systems on the most advanced ships in the world. It was a tremendous, rewarding experience.
