GBS awarded for extraordinary support of employees serving in the National Guard or Reserves.

The GBS Group has been acknowledged by the Pennsylvania Committee for Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office for our support as an employer of National Guard or Reservists.  James DiTaranto, GBS Federal Division Vice President, was honored to represent and accept the award on behalf of The GBS Group. The GBS Group was awarded the ESGR Patriot Award in recognition of our extraordinary support of employees serving in the National Guard or Reserves.  The award is given by the South East Area of the Pennsylvania Committee for Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office.

This award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals and companies who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees through a wide range of measures including a flexible schedule, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

The GBS Group was nominated by one of it’s own employees for being highly supportive of his reserve career.  Our employee has graciously been supporting our country regularly while working here at The GBS Group and we thank him for his continued service.

In his nomination he stated that, “Jim, along with GBS as a whole has been flexible and understanding with my need to leave for military service and they are an example of how a company should treat and operate in regard to actively serving national guard and reservists”.
