Michael Sawyer

Michael Sawyer is a recognized expert in Sperry Marine equipment and systems that support shipboard Navigation, Steering, Radar, Gyro, and Communications systems across the commercial maritime industry. He has over 35 years of experience on these systems as a leading Field Engineer for Sperry Marine and The GBS Group. Mike travels the world to troubleshoot, repair, install and commission all varieties of shipboard Sperry Marine equipment and systems. He has designed systems upgrades, wrote detailed technical documents and maintenance procedures, and reviewed and approved technical drawings and operating procedures. He also trained a generation of Sperry Marine engineers from the U.S., Canada, and South America. Prior to his work with Sperry Marine, Mike served as a Radio Officer for the U.K. Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service. He holds the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Electrical Engineering from the South Tyneside Marine College in the United Kingdom.
