Mike Cotton

In his role as Director, Maritime Sales, Mike supports the VP Maritime in proposal capture and development, contract execution and customer relations for a growing clientele across the maritime industry on a variety of commercial and government platforms. Mike brings over 30 years of electrical and automation design experience in both the commercial manufacturing and maritime industries where he is a recognized expert.  Notable accomplishments over his career include the development of Hybrid Power Systems in the 3Kw, 60Kw and 120Kw range that were used on the battlefields of Afghanistan, designed one of the first MIL qualified VFD’s using COTS components that are now used on the new Ford Class Aircraft Carriers, and lead engineer in the design of the cable handling system used on the USNS ZESU (T-ARC 7). Mike started with GBS in 2016 and has been instrumental in growing the capabilities, capacity, and expertise at The GBS Group.
