Robert Bartee

In his role as Director, Engineering & Design, Robert is responsible for the electrical, navigation systems, automation controls, and mechanical engineering teams made up from a group of Subject Matter Experts (SME), experienced and creative engineers and designers. The Engineering & Design groups support all work across The GBS Group, with a primary focus on work in the Maritime Division. This support ranges from Engineering/Technical service on a variety of commercial and government maritime platforms to complete project management, design, build, test, install, and commission projects. Robert brings over 40 years of marine engineering and group management. His experiences started with US NAVY Combatants craft, and evolved to design management of advanced technology vessels including high speed yachts (GTMY Destriero 225 ft/65knots and GTMY Fortuna 140 ft/70 knots). Robert went on to be Project Manager for Gibbs and Cox supporting the Multi Mission Support Craft (MMSC, LCS Variant).  Robert has taken the position as Director, Engineering and Design at GBS is focused on developing engineering excellence supporting the GBS long term goals.

Robert has served as Chief Operating Officer, Director, Owner’s representative, Chief engineer, Chief Operating Officer and Program Manager design and construction manager contracts for high value clients over his career with a reputation of being professional and ethical. His leadership skills drive an environment for employees to be empowered for growth.
