NOAA PA GA Dial Telephone Award

On 13 September 2023, The GBS Group was awarded a contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to design, build, install, and commission a new Public Address/ General Alarm (PA/GA), and Dial Telephone system for the Fisheries Research Ships Pisces, Oscar Dyson, Reuben Lasker, and Bell M. Shimada.  

The GBS Group will follow a structured design process to create a state of the art system that will replace the existing PA/GA and Dial Telephone systems on these NOAA Ships that will be fully integrated with the existing onboard systems and external communications systems.  The upgrade will be a complete turnkey project centered around an ABS approved Zenitel based communication system and comprises engineering, design, drafting, ILS development, test procedure development, material procurement, shipping, turnkey installation, commissioning, and dock and sea trial support for all four ships identified.  This upgrade will include redesign/replacement of all cabling, switches, servers, nodes, jack boxes, phones, amplifiers, speakers, handsets, and headsets.
