The GBS Group was awarded a contract supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Detachment (NSWCPD) Code 242 for Submarine Quality Assurance Support services.

On 25 August 2025, NSWCPD awarded The GBS Group a $16.3M contract over 5 years to support Submarine QA Support services in Code 242.  The award enables The GBS Group to expand its services to NSWCPD in this area with the help of our partnership with Orbis Sibro, Inc. 

This requirement is to develop and recommend procedures and work instructions in accordance with the commands Quality Management System for Government approval, provide services to perform, observe, and report the inspection of Submarine Antenna, Periscope System, and component parts under production contracts, provide services to support the performance of Audits and vendor surveys, research reference data cited in the applicable documents, review quality systems, procedures, OQE and in-process work processes to support SUBSAFE and LEVEL I certification of finished products in accordance with NSWCPD Code 242 Quality Assurance procedures.

With this new contract award, The GBS Group has not only expanded its footprint within NSWCPD but also added to its wide range of technologies and will continue to look for new growth areas within the Navy.
